Bearing alloys
In our offer you will find:
Tin-based bearing alloys
In these types of products, we most often use tin-antimony-copper alloys. They contain 80-90% tin, 4-13% antimony, and 3-6% copper, along with additives of nickel, arsenic, cadmium, silver, and zinc.
How do we obtain the appropriate physicochemical properties? – Through modifications that fragment the structure or change the surface tension.
What can you use our bearing alloys for?
– For the production of plain bearing bushes as well as other parts that work together and are responsible for sliding friction.
– Such bearings are used in high-speed engines of rolling mills, mills, compressors, turbines, in the heavy industry, machinery, railways and shipbuilding .
What makes such bearing alloys particularly valuable?
– Low thermal expansion within the bearing operating temperature range.
– Good thermal conductivity.
– Abrasion resistance.
– Low coefficient of friction.
– Ability to absorb small particles and adapt to the surface of the plug.
– Resistance to acids found in some lubricants.
Lead-based bearing alloys
They contain approximately 5-20% tin, 60-85% lead, 5-17% antimony and up to 3% copper, as well as admixtures of nickel, arsenic and cadmium.
What are the characteristics of such bearing alloys? They have noticeably lower strength and corrosion resistance than tin-based alloys , but we add arsenic and cadmium to increase hardness, and nickel to increase strength at elevated temperatures.
